Anxiety is usually triggered by specific circumstances. You often start avoiding situations where you expect to experience anxiety the most. This of course just exacerbates the problem, especially if the situations involve travel, work or socialising. Anxiety can take over your life.

After experiencing anxiety attacks many clients say they feel lost, desperate and more scared than ever before. The physical symptoms include a racing heart, sweaty hands and a sickness in the stomach. These together with psychological symptoms of paranoia and mental ‘floating' make for an incredibly unpleasant experience.

Anyone who suffers from a fear of driving will know that it's an entirely an irrational fear. They will probably be a very capable and competent driver. Like most phobias a fear of driving will often be caused by a traumatic or unsettling event from the past, eg a road traffic accident or some other related incident. If the driver is experiencing other forms of stress whilst driving the cumulative effect will stimulate an anxiety or panic attack. From a rational and conscious prospective we can understand and accept that flying is by far the safest mode of transport. Yet so many people can feel sick at the thought of flying, dreading any up and coming holiday or business trip, even avoiding them altogether or finding another mode of transport. By using hypnosis it is possible to access the sub-conscious mind and change the focus away from our present reality, just as you do when you are daydreaming, making you that calm and confident traveller, enjoying every bit of your holiday or journey.
